Releasing balloons to Heaven in honor of a loved one is an emotional and comforting act of love.  Ryan's Heart encourages releases for all ages.

Ryan's Heart supports the dozens of organized balloon releases across the nation, however we also promote releasing balloons at any time and with any one.  We encourage making each release personal and special.  By writing a message and sending your heart to Heaven, you can begin to heal your own grieving heart.

Interesting Balloon Facts - Protect the Environment

100% Latex balloons are bio-degradable and can decompose as fast as an oak leaf in your backyard!!  Foil based balloons do not.

Latex balloons come from rubber trees called Hevae Brasiliensis.  Latex is collected by cutting the tree's bark, then catching the milky soap (latex) in a cup.

Latex balloons are Earth-friendly because the harvesting does not hurt the tree.  In fact, latex harvesting discourages deforestation because the tree is left intact.

2009 Hearts for Heaven Balloon Release

August 30, 2009  12:00 noon

Place:  North Street Healthcare Parking Lot, Presque Isle, ME

On Auust 30, 2009, residents of Aroostook County, Maine, joined together to celebrate the lives of the loved ones we have lost.  

Children and adults alike wrote messages and attached tracking stickers on their balloons.  It was a very emotional moment as they watched their hearts float up to Heaven .  A few silent tears were seen throughout the crowd as Brad Paisley's words "When I get to Where I'm Going" escourted their messages of love until they floated out of sight.
